The Offshore Radio Slides
Enjoy a beautiful collection of 378 digitalised offshore radio slides. This page is optimized for a 1024 x 768 pixels solution.
The package contains 33 MB of exclusive material from several offshore stations and originates from the archives of Theo Dencker, Hans Knot, Rainer Knebel, Hans-Joachim Backhus, Bruce Knopper, Ate Harsta, J.R. Cluysenaar, Peter Messingfeld, Steve England and Martin van der Ven.
Many pictures were of course made by the famous offshore radio photographer Theo Dencker. But in some cases it can't be remembered who actually took the shots.

Here they are:
gebeurd. [Hans Hogendoorn ('Hans ten
Hooge' op RNI)] How lovely to see those slides! [Mary Payne] I really enjoyed the RNI pictures and also the studios of Veronica. I had the opportunity to visit RNI twice, not onboard, but from the ship that FRC-NL and FRC-G arranged. I did also visit Mi Amigo when it was a "pirate museum" in Zaandam, July 1972, I believe. On this trip to the Northsea I do remember one person with many cameras and he took a lot of pictures. It was much later that I found out that this was Theo Dencker. I'll have to try to put my colour slides in the scanner, from my visits to the "pirates". I enclose a re-print of the "brochure" that I got before visiting Mi Amigo in 1972. [Per Alarud] I have been working my way through them this week-end, and they are a great collection! Thanks for sharing them with us. [Wim van de Water] What can I say but fantastic, some of the most amazing pictures of the Mebo II that I have ever seen. Thanks for keeping the dream alive. [Colin Oakley] |
